Type 92 was the first Tankette of the Imperial Japanese Army. It’s based on the British Carden-Loyd Mark VIb tankette which was imported by the IJA for field tests alongside Franche FT Armored Cars. After conducting tests both French and British vehicles were defined as to small to be of use for the Army. That lead to the issue o Type 92 specification to Ishikawajima Motorcar Manufacturing Company (later renamed to Isuzu Motors). The design was finished in 1931 with the first model being ready in 1932. The very kit pictures the late type of 92 tankette, it’s drive train is redesigned to 4 wheels and the hull mounted machine gun got replaced with a 13.2mm Type 92 heavy machine gun. The turret was equipped with a Type 97 7,7mm machine gun. Pit-Road.
