JASDF Mitsubishi F-2A S/N 63-8501, Air Development & Test Wing

The JASDF F-2A is a multirole fighter aircraft developed and manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries for the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF). It is a variant of the Lockheed Martin F-16 Fighting Falcon and was first introduced in 2000. The F-2A is designed for air-to-air and air-to-ground missions and is equipped with advanced avionics and weapons systems. It has a maximum speed of Mach 2 and a range of over 2,000 kilometers. A total of 94 F-2A aircraft were built for the JASDF, with production ending in 2011. The aircraft is currently in service and is planned to be retired in the 2030s.
