The first masterpiece of Jiro Horikoshi, Mitsubishi A5M, Navy Type Fighter 96. It was the world’s first monoplane fighter to operate from an aircraft carrier. Model A5M4 was the most advanced and the final version of Claude. It was based on A5M2b with removed canopy cover, redesigned upper part of the fuselage, fitted with a new Kotobuki 41 KAI engine and a detachable fuel tank. It remained in front-line service until 1941 when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. This kit represents the A5M4 airplane in 4 different painting schemas from the Soryu fighter groups.
