Shinshoto was the final version of Chi-Ha built by Mitsubishi, it had the revised hull and new main artillery. It was produced between 1942 and 1943. It was fitted with a designed for Type 1 Chi-He tank turret equipped with a high-velocity 47mm gun and upgraded hull with thicker side armor also now covering the engine. Type 97 was designed in the 1930s and produced by the Mitsubishi corporation in more than 3 000 units, which made it the most widely produced Japanese medium tank of World War II. The kit itself will be fitted with new interior and a set of black plastic multilink tracks. Separately a set of photo-etched parts and a brass gun barrel are also available.
