Improved version of Ki-15 in which the Nakajima engine was replaced with a more powerful Mitsubishi Ka-26-I that developed 671 kW. The new engine not only was more powerful but was also smaller in its diameter which improved the forward visibility of the pilot. Version II was released to production in 1939.
