JASDF F-2A Fighter “VEER GUARDIAN 2023”

This is a reproduction of the specially-marked aircraft that was unveiled during “VEER GUARDIAN 2023”. The special markings, which were removed immediately after the completion of the joint training, were said to be a combination of the unit marks of each of the three units that participated in the exercises as well as a design that signifies that “this training will leave its marks on history.” Original decals are included to reproduce the single-seat F-2A (No. 63-8537) that was marked. The JASDF F-2A is a multirole fighter aircraft developed and manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries for the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF). It is a variant of the Lockheed Martin F-16 Fighting Falcon and was first introduced in 2000. The F-2A is designed for air-to-air and air-to-ground missions and is equipped with advanced avionics and weapons systems. It has a maximum speed of Mach 2 and a range of over 2,000 kilometers. A total of 94 F-2A aircraft were built for the JASDF, with production ending in 2011. The aircraft is currently in service and is planned to be retired in the 2030s.
